The title of the new album, Get Lucky, do we like it? |

Now we know the title of the new album. Usually, when MK releases a new album, we discuss whether we like the title or not. Until now I haven't seen one
critical word about the title Get Lucky. What do you think? Do you like the title? I do!

Of course I like the new album title. It's wicked!

I wonder if it's about "getting some luck", like winning the jackpot or getting that dreamgirl, or about some person who's (nick)name is
Lucky. After who some perons, like criminals or police, are out there to get him, death or alive. Could be a song about Charlie "Lucky" Luciano.
Who's number 9 on the top gangster list.
http://www.toptenz.net/to...d-gangster-nicknames.php Anyway, I like the title. I am very curious after the new album. Though I hope it's more dynamical then the previous album. Imho the previous album was way to monotonous. The dynamics of the songs themselves, as well as the dynamics (/tempo variation) between the songs .

I'm sure the music will be fantastic, but the title is horrible.
There is no such word in the English language as "get". I expect better of a graduate and a former journo. |

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned what it means as a colloquial expression...

It is an absolutely horrible word that is used by people (in England) when they can't find a suitable alternative. For example "Can I get a
coffee" means "May I order a coffee please?".
Regretably English standards have really slipped in the last 20 years, so it has become a word that is used in substitution for many others by lazy people, when they cannot find the correct word to express themselves. "I'm going to get the new MK album" means "I'm going to buy the new MK album". People who don't use English as their native tongue very rarely use the word, because their grammar is better. The word is in the English dictionary now, as are many others, but if you strip our language back to Latin, then it isn't there. Even the French (who have a far better structured language than we do) have no direct translation. As I said before, I'm sure the music is great, but it is a horrible title.

Markp, I take it that you never use the "G E T" word yourself then, or are you a lazy person too, just like the rest of the population?

I am sorry Markp. I am totally agree with LoveExpresso, Superval and Rollergirl. Dire Straits is not in the dictionaries but what a lovely
slang street expression from the working class people. I love "Get Lucky" expression.

Have we forgotten Kill to Get Crimson? Or is the infinitive form accepatable? I, for one, love the title and can't wait to hear the CD.
