I think all of us are darned lucky that there is not a complete ban at this point on audio recordings. I'm sure that the recorder meant no harm; nevertheless , he did cause problems. Making and announcing his recording has now put an onus on all audios. And even if no harm was meant, it did cross a line of respect, perhaps legality. Every time someone gets around a rule with a technicality, it just makes the rules stricter for everybody else. If tiny technicalities are not spelled out, it is perhaps because the band believes that their fans will respect the generous policies in place. If the recorder did not know a soundboard recording was illegal when he made it, he does now. I hope that the recording is erased as Guy requested, but if not, the honorable thing to do is not to share it. Period. We all now know that it is a soundboard recording , so if the recorder will delete references to soundboard, sharing, and uploading, we'll appreciate it. No sense in starting a war of wills. Everybody loses. Thanks to the generous nature of GF, MK, and PCM, it looks as if we're not all flushed already over this. image
Yes, I'd like to have this recording. Who wouldn't? But I'm sooooooooooo willing to give up one bootleg of one concert if that is what the band asks of the fans . They haven't asked all that much--except a return of the respect they give us. With all the recordings we do have, we can do without one that makes this band uncomfortable.
The posts regarding sharing and uploading of this recording need to be deleted. Would you do that, please, Chia.
