Hi all, I'm back from Cologne, too image
And yes, yet another great concert, although my trip to Cologne and back was a bit of an odyssey...First I was stuck in a traffic jam again on my way to Frankfurt, then I couldn't find a parking space...Anyway, I managed to arrive at the central station on time. But then my ICE from Frankfurt to Cologne ended at Frankfurt Airport because the fast track Frankfurt-Cologne was closed. Obviously someone threw himself in front of a train image All passengers had to leave and take the slower IC train. I arrived in Cologne two hours later than planned, at half past six. I was really worried not to make it on time! I wanted to meet up with Margret for a coffee but my plans were crossed...Instead, I arrived at the Arena at ten past 7, quite hounded and sweating image I met Margret, Wolfgang, Martina, Pottel and Marc and at least there was some time left for a coke and a little chat before we went in.

Last time I was at the Kölnarena I saw Simon & Garfunkel there in 2004 and I remember I wasn't too excited about the sound but this time it was really good, probably the best sound from the four concerts I went to, at least from where I was sitting, in row two. The show was awesome, MK played flawless (although Martina noticed something but I can't remember what it was). Sultans, Marbletown and TR were the highlights for me. I have the feeling Marbletown gets longer and longer...After TR, we all rushed towards the stage again and I managed to make it to the front row again. There was a guy with his little son on his shoulders and Mark shook his hand and gave him a pick. I didn't really realise this at first so I raised my hand too...LOL, I didn't mean to grab the pick of course, I just thought MK would shake some more hands. Then something very funny happened - I wore a big glass ring and it seems as if I have clapped to heavy because it broke and the top of it rolled onstage! That must have looked weird I managed to grab it again but everyone around me was a bit puzzled, LOL!

At the end of the show people were waiting for guitar picks and the towel of course. There was a security guy who wanted us to leave but I didn't, I wanted to wait what would happen next. Some guys asked for the towel but then the roadie saw me and threw it at me! So, just like Margret, I am now the proud owner of a sweaty MK towel (Although I can't really remember if he used it, does somebody know?) !
And, since this is a posting from me, here are some of my trademark details, LOL... Mark used some powder for his hands, never noticed that before. I could also watch his arm muscles again, hehe. Also, when I wanted to know what time it is, I looked at Mark's watch, that's how close I was :-)

After the concert we had a little drink in a nearby restaurant. Marc and I left at 23.15 because I had to catch my train and Marc wanted to drive home. He dropped me off at the central station where I learned that the train odyssey would continue...My ICE back to Frankfurt was 20 mins late but then, when I was on the train, the delay slowly grew to one hour! Obviously, the Deutsche Bahn was overstrained with the aftermath of a thunderstorm...Since I had nothing else to do, I worked on the draft for my PhD on the train and discovered that working late can be quite productive, especially when you had too much caffeine... I arrived in Frankfurt at 3.20 a.m. and was finally back home one hour later. Now I'm totally tired of course; I'm going to see Bon Jovi tonight and I fear to fall asleep... :-)
Anyway, now the MK tour is over for me...It was awesome - great concerts, MK in best shape, met lots of nice people...Looking forward to the next tour!
By the way, I also took pictures last night, I will upload them later.
