It's great news although I was a bit dissapointed that there was no mention of a live CD which was what I was predicting. Oh well we can't have it all,
I suppose, and I guess it's time to move on from the whole KTGC thing.

Right then. I want to know track names, track lengths, artists involved, album artwork, and what the set list is going to be when they tour with the new
album.

:) Great news! Well I liked the KTGC album very much, but I think we will again get something different! Guy mentioned that MK wanted to get quickly into the
studio after the tour...that could mean more nice guitar solos, because after such a tour MK's playing touch must be way better than after a long break. Or
then I'm completely wrong :D

MK must be feeling quite inspired to get back into the studio so quickly, so I think it's great news.

I'd love more rock from MK, but really, I just want him to do what makes him happy, and he can lead me in whatever direction he wants.

Im tipping something possibly with hank marvin or something along those lines, cause I did feel a shadows vibe in the last album, I am hoping somthing good
will come out of it especially a good tour hopefully one to Australia and one to china for allen.

jacksonni wrote:Hehe, well yeah :) To me all the solo albums have had a different sound and touch. They all have had a different approach, different musicians, pretty much different studios and in my opinion different songs! This has been the case since the Making Movies album :) |

I would love to hear a little bit of the "Golden Heart-Style". IMO the best album...

I'd like him to get a bit rockier and to place a bit more emphasis on his guitar playing. It was far too rationed on KTGC. The last few albums have been
beautifully crafted but they are were a bit sleepy in places, which is fine but it's nice to mix it up a bit now and then.

No Hank Marvin this time | ||

I agree with those who say that every album has been different since the Making Movies album (which was the last DS album or maybe it was the first solo album.
LoG was indeed a solo album and MK's gone solo ever since...).
I think it's not likely he makes another Hank Marvin style album this time. Why not? Because MK doesn't repeat himself (maybe if you compare songs, but not albums - except for the two first albums, maybe, but they were real band albums.). And because GF has said many times that K2GC had that particular sound and guitar style because MK wanted to make an album with that particular sound, not because it's the way MK has evolved as a musician and a song writer. It was more like a concept album, I think. But what do we get this time? The only clue we have is that they, according to GF, have booked the touring band to play in the studio - the Americans included! That could mean some live recording again (like the Shang-ri La album). And it wouldn't surprise me if John McCusker is among them. What do I want? I don't know. I have a feeling MK is over his country period now. Maybe I hope for some strange music like Heart Full Of Holes or something, some folky and jazzy music with all kinds of strange instruments, or something like Marble Town live... |

New GF information: The current plan is that they are finished in the studio in april 09. That could mean a release in the autumn of 09 and a tour in 2010
(just like GF predicted in the Dr. Fletch forum towards the end of the K2GC tour). But anything could happen...
